Method XbpBitmap():create() Foundation

Requests system resources for the XbpBitmap object.

Syntax
:create( [<oPScompat>] ) --> self
Parameters
<oPScompat>
The optional parameter <oPScompat> specifies a presentation space that the XbpBitmap object should be compatible with. If <oPScompat>is not specified, the XbpBitmap object is prepared for display on the screen. If the bitmap will be printed, the presentation space specified for <oPScompat> must be linked with an XbpPrinter object (printer device context).
Return

This method returns the object executing the method (self).

Description

Executing the method :create() is important in the life cycle of each XbpBitmap object. After an XbpBitmap object is instantiated, the object exists but is not yet operational. System resources must be requested from the operating system for the object to become fully functional. This is done using the method :create().

As long as the display of a bitmap occurs only in an XbpCrt window, <oPScompat> is optional. However, the presentation space should generally be specified when the bitmap is created.
