Method XbpHTMLElement():getNoIVar() Foundation

Retrieves an HTML element given its identifier.

Syntax
:getNoIVar( <cElementIdAsIVar> ) --> oElem
Parameters
<cIVarAsElementId>
A character string with the id of the element.
Return

An XbpHTMLElement() which represents the specified HTML element. If no element is found, return is NIL.

Description

The method :getNoIVar() returns an HTML element with an identifier coded as an instance variable name. This allows for a much more natural way of addressing HTML elements than using :childFromId().

:getNoIvar() searches for the element beginning at the top of the HTML element tree. This means that the method can be used to access elements located at a higher position in the element tree.

This form of address works for all HTML elements with identifiers which are legal instance variable names, and which are not already defined as instance variables in the XbpHTMLElement class.
