The Compiled Xbase++ Pages technology (CXP) is a infrastructure that allows programmers to create powerful dynamic web sites or web applications. A CXP page contains HTML markup as well as Xbase++ code that contributes content retrieved from databases or other application logic. Because CXP pages are executed in native code, no scripting environment is required as it is the case using other technologies, such as ASP or PHP. Using CXP, programmers knowing Xbase++, FoxPro or Visual FoxPro can benefit from their knowledge of their respective development language.

In addition to the CXP documentation, we encourage you to also study the CXP samples which are installed by the installation package. The CXP samples explain and demonstrate various aspects and techniques for creating dynamic web content and for using CXP. See Xbase++ Workbench -> Help -> Web Samples for the source code.
